Commercial plant room installation, London
Your Commercial Gas Engineer Across London and Slough
When a boiler fails in a shop, office, workshop or rented unit, you need a commercial gas engineer who can attend quickly, find the fault and tell you the cost before work starts. Commercial gas is a different discipline from domestic gas: the appliances are larger, the flues and gas supplies are more complex, and the law requires the engineer to be Gas Safe registered for the specific type of work.
MAK Plumbing & Heating has served customers in South West London for years and holds domestic Gas Safe registration (#939043). To offer a complete commercial service, we work with DU Plumbing and Heating, a Gas Safe registered commercial gas engineer (#551633) covering non-domestic natural gas work. We take the enquiry, survey, quote and coordinate the job; the registered commercial engineer carries out the commercial gas work. You always know who is doing what.
Who Does What — Clearly
Gas Safe registration is split by type of work, so we tell you exactly who carries out each part of your job.

Commercial Boiler Repairs and Fault Finding

A failed commercial boiler can mean no hot water for staff and customers, a cold building and lost trade. When you call, we ask about the appliance, the symptoms and the premises so the right commercial gas engineer attends with the right equipment. On site, the engineer checks the gas supply and pressure, the controls and safety devices, ignition, the flue and combustion, and the water circuit.
You get a clear explanation of the fault, the repair options and the cost before any work goes ahead. If an appliance cannot be left in use, it is made safe and you are told why, in writing. For circulation and sludge problems we can arrange a power flush and fit a magnetic filter to protect the new or repaired boiler.

Commercial Boiler Installations
Replacing a commercial boiler is more than swapping a unit. We survey the plant room or boiler location, check the gas supply capacity, flue route and ventilation, and size the boiler for the building’s hot water and heating demand. You receive a written quote, the installation is carried out by a Gas Safe registered commercial gas engineer, the appliance is tested and commissioned, and you receive the paperwork. Plumbing, pipework and heating alterations are handled by MAK in the same visit, so the building is back in use sooner.

Commercial Gas Prices — How We Charge
Every commercial building is different, so we quote for the job rather than quoting a generic price list. Here is how pricing works:
- Commercial call-out charge: agreed before the engineer attends, covering travel and the initial assessment. Quoted separately from repair time and parts.
- Fault finding and repairs: the cause and the cost are explained before the repair goes ahead. Parts are quoted separately.
- Commercial boiler installations: fixed written quote after a survey. No surprises on the day.
- VAT: commercial quotes are normally given excluding VAT.
For an indication of price, call 07900 247 384 or message us on WhatsApp.
Why Use a Gas Safe Registered Commercial Gas Engineer?
Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, anyone carrying out gas work must be competent and Gas Safe registered for that type of work. The HSE publishes guidance for gas safety, and you can check any engineer, including their registered categories, on the Gas Safe Register. As the person responsible for the premises, using the right engineer protects your staff, your customers and your insurance.

Commercial Gas Engineer FAQ
Do I need a commercial gas engineer for a shop, office or business premises?
Yes. Gas work in commercial and non-domestic premises must be carried out by an engineer who is Gas Safe registered for the specific type of work. Domestic registration does not cover commercial boilers, air heaters or overhead radiant heaters. Our commercial gas engineer partner, DU Plumbing and Heating (Gas Safe #551633), is registered for non-domestic natural gas work.
Is MAK Plumbing & Heating Gas Safe registered for commercial gas work?
MAK Plumbing & Heating is Gas Safe registered (#939043) for domestic gas work. Commercial natural gas work is carried out by our Gas Safe registered commercial partner, DU Plumbing and Heating (#551633). We coordinate the whole job, so you deal with one company and one quote.
How much does a commercial gas engineer call-out cost?
Commercial call-out charges depend on the location, the time of day and how urgent the problem is. We confirm the call-out charge before we attend, and it is quoted separately from repair time and parts. Call 07900 247 384 for a price for your premises.
How much does a commercial boiler installation cost?
The cost depends on the size and type of boiler, the flue, the gas supply and the pipework. Because every commercial building is different, we survey first and give a fixed written quote, normally excluding VAT.
What does commercial boiler repair and fault finding include?
A commercial gas engineer attends, isolates the fault and tests the appliance, controls and gas supply. You are told the cause, the cost of the repair and any parts needed before work continues. Where an appliance is unsafe it is made safe and you are advised in writing.
Do you install and repair non-domestic hot water boilers?
Yes. Our commercial partner is registered for indirect fired non-domestic hot water boilers on natural gas, covering installation, repair, fault finding and testing.
What commercial gas appliances can you work on?
Non-domestic hot water boilers, direct and indirect fired air heating equipment, overhead plaque and tube radiant heaters, and first-fix commercial gas pipework including testing and purging up to 1m3 on natural gas.
Do you do LPG or commercial catering gas work?
Not at present. Our commercial gas engineer is registered for natural gas. We will tell you honestly if a job is outside what we can do.
Which areas do you cover?
West London (Ealing, Hounslow, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea), South West London (Wandsworth, Lambeth, Merton, Richmond, Kingston, Sutton, Croydon) and Slough, including Windsor, Staines and Maidenhead.
Can I get one quote and one point of contact?
Yes. Call or WhatsApp MAK Plumbing and we arrange the survey and quote, schedule the plumbing and gas work together and keep you updated. The quote states clearly which company carries out which part of the work.
Also from MAK Plumbing & Heating: boiler servicing, landlord gas safety certificates, gas leak detection, emergency plumber, radiator installation and no heating & boiler breakdown repair.
